Is Atlantic Airways an adequate airline for the Faroe Islands? Have you ever heard of that airline?

I don't think there is a better sound than the noise of aircraft engines spooling up for departure at the start of a runway. One thing that surprised me was how short the safety demonstration was. There were no instructions on how the life jackets should be worn which concerns me as all Atlantic Airways flights to and from Vagar will involve flying over water.

So what do you think, which class is more worth it on this route?

Whilst it is nice to fly onboard a widebody aircraft operating a one hour fifth freedom flight in Europe, the cost of upgrading to business class isn't worth it in my opinion. The service in business class is really disappointing on this flight. Is this made clear when you book this flight in business class?

Superb video Tobi! As a Scotsman I really enjoyed following your experience of Edinburgh Airport. I really like the ATR as an aircraft to fly on and Emerald Airlines have a very nice cabin on their aircraft. Shame about the delay as the departure from Edinburgh is stunning to film in daylight. If Loganair and Air France aircraft were parked up for the night it was indeed a late departure. I hope you will return to Scotland again soon. ✈️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I think there is little difference between legacy airlines and low cost carriers in economy class in Europe these days. There are a few exceptions (Aegean, Turkish) who offer excellent service but the philosophy now is to cram in as many seats and offer as few extras as possible. I'd probably choose SAS as I like the wider cabin of the A320Neo and the ability to earn Star Alliance miles (soon to be SkyTeam).

Last may, I found out that the first 10 seats or so in the SAS A320s tend to have more leg-seat seat space that the seats situated at the very back of the plane. Providing that you can choose this at no additional cost during check-in, I think this may be an advantage when choosing SAS over Norwegian, where all seats have same space. But that's my opinion right there. Great video guys ! 🎉

What do you think about the handling by Widerøe?

Really sorry to hear that your trip on the Wideroe Dash 8-400 was cancelled. It seems that this flight is cancelled quite often. It is impressive that they managed to rebook you so quickly but the trip on the Cityjet CRJ is a bit less exciting in my opinion. I hope you get to fly with Wideroe sometime soon.

Wir fliegen im Herbst nun auch nach Kreta. Das Royal Senses war tatsächlich in der engeren Auswahl. Letzten Endes gehen wir aber in das Domes Aulus Elounda. Das hat für uns wegen All-Inclusive gewonnen. Wir sind zwar keine AI-Reisende, aber da beide Hotels in etwa gleiche Preise bieten und wir uns eh nur entspannen wollen... klingt Full Board Plus gleich besser als Breakfast Inclusive. Mal schauen, wie das dann wird. Nach deinem Video bin ich aber noch mal froher, das Domes Aulus gebucht zu haben.

Turkish airlines is garbage

My experience with SATA it was not very good at all. On the arrival flight to PDL, we left OPO almost three hours late. On the flight back to OPO from PDL we left with two hours and twenty minutes. In my opinion SATA schedules the flights wrongly. On the other hand there were other delays with SATA flights to other destinations and the terminal at PDL was overcrowded and without air conditioning. It was very uncomfortable

Would you like to see more (non-aviation) content from the Faroe Islands?

I recognise the "big birds" at Copenhagen Airport- SAS, Ethiopian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways International and British Airways. I would love to see more footage from your visit to the Faroe Islands, it looks like an incredible place to visit.

Good value for money?

My only complaint about the seats, and the reclining they do for sleep, is the area you put your feet in is very narrow, and my size (6'3" / 250lb) made it so I needed to sleep on my back. The problem with that is there is little support for your legs, only at your feet, and your knees tend to lock up.

The food looks terrible and bad standard for a European airline. AF, Iberia, Lufthansa and Austrian are miles ahead in service standards and quality’s

Du bist etwas negativ. Der Preis für die Business Class ist viel viel günstiger als z.B. die Lufthansa. Auf einer Mittelstrecke mit der Lufthansa bekommt man auch kein besseres Essen, den selben schlechten Sitzabstand, absolut kein Amenity Kit. Also für den kleinen Aufpreis bietet die Condor einen super Service an. Also nicht so negativ sein oder einfach gleich Eco fliegen !

I'm also glad that Norwegian made it through their hard times and are flying high once again. Their shorthaul flights are reliable and crews are usually friendly. Whilst there is no free onboard service, the buy on board menu is extensive and reasonably priced as you found out. 🍻 Prost!

"... in dem ALEX vor kurzen übernachtet hatte..." :D Die Intonation. 😄 Das Design kommt mir auch aus dem Moxy in Lyon bekannt vor, in dem ICH vor kurzem übernachtet hatte. ^^ Die Designs von Moxys sprechen mich mit ihrer Pseudo-Hipster-Idee grundlegend nicht so an. Aber sie sind halt immerhin häufig noch irgendwie bezahlbar.

That's really disappointing for €145. Can't believe no in flight service is offered on this sector and there is no fast track security. Would be interesting to see what the Ethiopian Airlines business class service is like on a longer flight but after your experience I wouldn't pay for a business class seat on one of their European fifth freedom flights.
